Magnificently set in the midst of Val d’Orcia’s magical scenery, on the top of a hill, with magnificent views of the surroundings, Villa Muri Antichi is a peaceful, enchanted oasis. Part of the Monteverdi estate, which includes 2 other villas, a boutique hotel and charming private chapel, Villa Muri Antichi dates back to the Middle Ages. Still showing its perfectly preserved original structure and sturdy ancient stone walls, and carefully, beautifully restored by Ilaria and Giorgio Miani (among Italy’s most renowned and celebrated interior designers and architects) the Villa boasts a unique character and a perfect blend of ancient and modern.
The ceilings and staircases have been superbly restored using local wood, flagstone and granite, and stylish contemporary furnishings, state-of-the-art modern facilities, guaranteeing full comfort and relaxation.
The 6 double bedrooms all feature king-size beds are exquisitely furnished with tasteful custom-built furniture, sophisticated finishes and lighting and deluxe hand-dyed linens. The bathrooms, all en-suite, are extensive and feature marble and hand-carved sinks. The communal areas are welcoming, elegant and comfortable: the living area includes TV viewing and library areas (with a large fire place), and a charming wine cellar is located on the lower ground floor, while the ground level features a tasteful dining room and lovely kitchen, fully equipped with the latest appliances and up-to-date facilities… ideal for tasty Tuscan cooking!
Splendidly located in one of Val d’Orcia’s most evocative spots, on the top of a lovely hill, the villa is part of the ancient Monteverdi hamlet, a luxurious carefully restored estate which includes two other luxury villas, a boutique hotel, and a charming Church/chapel.
Villa Muri Antichi is the perfect starting point to discover the surroundings, and enjoy unique excursions and cultural visits, and some of Tuscany’s most spectacular ancient towns are a convenient 30 to 50 minute drive through breathtakingly beautiful landscapes.
