The Villa boasts a perfectly preserved original structure and charming ancient stone walls, all dating back to the Middle Ages. Montalcino (45 minutes from the villa) appears imposingly atop a hill surmounted by the majestic 13th century fortress and is world-celebrated as birthplace of the prized Brunello wine; this delightful town offers gorgeous palaces, precious artwork and fascinating alleys full of quaint workshops and gastronomic specialty shops. The lovely Trasimeno lake, with its shimmering waters and banks dotted by quaint ancient villages, ideal for lovely walks and boat excursions, is located at a pleasant 40 minutes drive.
