Built in local seaside style, the charming villa boasts a fascinating, one-of-a-kind architecture. Rising on two stories, it comprises unique features such as a large, eclectic playroom on the upper second floor level, and a spectacular teak-paved terrace, ideal for alfresco relaxing and entertaining. The Limonaia is a part of the main villa building but serves as a completely independent apartment, with its own access from the garden.
Recently fully restored and stylishly refurbished to meet modern expectations, the whole property offers state-of-the-art facilities – such as computer-controlled air conditioning and WIFI connection throughout – whilst also preserving the traditional architecture and genuine local ambiance.
The villa accommodates up to 12 guests + 2 (additional accommodation suitable for 2 teenagers or for 1 teenager/young adult guest and 1 staff is available as per details below) in its 6 finely furnished bedrooms, all with en-suite or private adjacent bathroom . All of the bedrooms are different, each full of character, thanks to warm, refined details such as soft-hued pastel walls, ancient style bed frames, canopies and exquisite fabrics. The main building’s first floor comprises 6 of the double bedrooms, all with spacious state-of-the-art en-suite bathrooms. Three of these open onto a lovely terracotta-tiled terrace which overlooks the rear garden offering breathtaking views of Maremma’s unique landscape.
The main building also includes 1 single room with en-suite bathroom, accessible from the first floor via a short staircase (this room is adequate for an additional adult or teenage guest or for staff, not for a child: the bed is to be accessed by climbing a ladder), as well 1 additional single bed and bathroom in the spacious top floor playroom.
The main building’s common areas are truly lovely, tastefully furnished and decorated in contemporary style. The ground floor, spacious and filled with light, boasts a spectacular open space which comprises dining and living area as well as a charming library. This great salon, enhanced by its period fireplace, features three large glass-paned arches which lead directly room onto the back garden’s grand teak-floored deck, the villa’s most exceptional feature. Naturally shaded by a grand pine tree, and furnished with luxurious sun-beds, elegant outdoor dining table and chairs, the deck offers marvelous views … the picture-perfect spot for alfresco dining, entertaining, sunbathing in complete privacy or simply relaxing and relishing the soft Maremman breezes!
The ground floor also includes a bright, fully equipped kitchen, convenient laundry room and 1 guest/staff bathroom. The upper second floor level hosts a charming, eclectic playroom ideal for childrens’ and teens’ leisure and TV viewing. Cozily furnished with easy chairs and a sofa and fully equipped (satellite TV and DVD player) the playroom includes its own kitchenette and bathroom and may host 1 additional guest (teenager) in its single bed and offers.
Il Tombolino’s grounds, with century-old pine trees, typical herbs, shrubs and colorful flowers, are spellbinding. Extending over 4 hectares, the villa’s park comprises luscious lawns, a bountiful vegetable garden, and superb paved outdoor terraces ideal for outdoor leisure and alfresco dining and entertaining. The lovely teak-paved deck (described above) leads to the luxuriant lawns below, and, by following the sweet-scented path which crosses the garden, guests may reach their own private access to the golden sandy (public) beach. The beach is fully equipped with a convenient private beach hut (locked, may be used to store towels/beach gear throughout the stay), sun umbrella and 4 sun beds.
